Is technology taking over our lives

Yes, yes, yes and if thou dost not believe mine answer then thou are colliers. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's the answer to the title. If you look at people from this time and age we are all insane. The definition of insanity is extreme foolishness or irrationality and we are extremely irrational and foolish towards our technology, ( especially our phones!). My English teacher might be the exact example of being technologically insane and the most obvious example is the stereotypical teenager on TV as well as many real teenagers. If at this time you are saying that's not me, check yourself before you wreck yourself. Most people don't realize that they are extremely/destructive drivers but anyone who drives to work and back through a city five days a week is a destructive driver just like anyone getting screen time for more than two hours a day is both extremely irrational and foolish towards their health. Don't get me wrong I'm the worst of you all, but addiction forces us to seek help and this is your help as well as mine. Technology keeps us from having emotional connections with others, it's bad for our health, and it's corrupting our society while taking away our privacy.

Why are we torturing ourselves like this? Life is a journey filled with the fear of death so what's worse utter silence or agonizing fear because the future is inevitable. We are increasing the cancer/death rate of humans in this age of technology due to radiation being expelled. What has this world come to when the object we call our helper is killing us!? While yes they do help, is it worth it? Many doctors fear the overuse of cell phones because they emit radiofrequency energy, a form of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation, which can be absorbed by tissues closest to where the phone is held, this causes cancers of the brain, nerves, and other tissues in the head or neck. It turns out that people who use their cellphones for fifty minutes or more have a condition in which the side near the cell phone antenna would consume more glucose than the other side, sadly there is no known condition that results from this, which only means that it has not been discovered yet and we all fear the unknown. " One recent analysis showed a statistically significant, albeit modest, increase in the risk of glioma among the small proportion of study participants who spent the most total time on cell phone calls" was stated by the National Cancer Institute this was written because of their study on whether technology causes cancer or not. This person spent many hours on the phone making them a destructive user and that caused much pain just like being a destructive driver will ruin your car.

When ebola was introduced to the US they started making robot nurses and if you don't know what ebola is read my blog " Mandatory". Robots are technology, I know you're probably thinking duh Sara, where are you going with this? Well I'm talking about the lack of human compassion brought on by this so called technological advancement. Fear rules our lives like I said above and this fear drives us, sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. In this case it's for the bad, what ever happened to bedside manners? In the past before all these technological advancements were created doctors and nurses actually took the time to get to know their patients in their time of need that's why they were so popular at that time, but now look at what the medical profession has come to (robots). We are losing so much human interaction due to social networking, but now this! When you were a child and were sick with that little red nose, and non monstrous cough didn't you love to see you loving/caring mother take care of you? We are depriving patients from ever having this feeling again. A blog called "The Atlantic" once stated "Ebola preys on the human body by way of the human soul." While yes this is completely true, the death rate for ebola is high and can you really stand it if you watch a patient die and do nothing about it? Unlike not changing your oil every three thousand miles while being a destructive driver causes the pistons to lose the oil film that separates them, it is not healthy for us to separate from our fellow humans .

The government has become more corrupt than it has ever been in these past few years. They are responsible for the defiance of privacy that we are just accepting at this time because we are blinded by the evil masked as beauty of technology. Fellow humans our fourth amendment is being broken so what are you going to do about it, take a stand or just sit ( I'm sitting because, this is not an issue to me, but if you feel strongly about it take a stand). We were promised "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized" by the Fourth Amendment in The Constitution. What the government is doing is an unreasonable "search". Why is this happening? Because the government wants to prevent crime which is wonderful by the way. Americans pride themselves for being free so I have to ask fellow americans how much freedom are willing to give up to be free? It starts with just a simple action but life is a chain of actions and reactions and it is everyone of your destinies to change this world for the better.

In conclusion our overuse of different types of technology are causing us pain yet we do not realize it for our thoughts are consumed with food that comes from useless knowledge. Illnesses such as cancer are being caused by just using a cellphone, imagine what is happening right now with you and your computer's radiation, better yet search it but understand that there are all different shapes and sizes when it comes to computers and they all emit a different amount of radiation. We are loosing human interaction due to technology. It's not just the robot nurses or the social networking sites, its the fact that we do not spend as much time with our families like we used to. Our privacy is being taken away from us but don't strain because if you read the terms and conditions for everything and accept you accept to this violation of privacy as well, but this does not make it fair to take our most personal information and the information that you absolutely can't have floating around. So get of you devices and join me this weekend when I get rid of all my devices (only for two day's) and spend some time in nature. Also if you have enough time on your hands to read this seriously consider what your doing with your life, maybe take a few harder classes to challenge yourself a little or improve your knowledge on the world because any activity that improves your brain's functions is a good idea that's one reason that I'm doing this blog, but i doubt that most of you don't already know this information.
